The scope of the project was to create a Forensics laboratory for the University of Winchester. This involved repurposing an existing classroom into a forensics space which uses state of the art equipment such as fume extraction units and laboratory benching for educational purposes.
Security measures included room alarm/detection, cctv, reinforced internal walls, a large safe and new security doors for the containment and safe storage of drugs. The project involved working closely with the home office and University security team due to the nature of the works. Close coordination with consultants and the contractor was essential throughout.
This project was developed from concept and feasibility through to completion. My role specifically was varied and included aspects of Contract Administration such as issuing contract instructions and organising progress meetings onsite and over teams. I assisted in creating the drawing packages, product specification using nbs and eventually snagging and handover.
